Elia Faccini

Born in 1994, both of Italian and British origin, Elia Faccini begins his musical studies at the age of 6, under the guidance of M° Giuseppe Marino Bertolani.

 

In 2009, just 15, he is admitted into the class of composition at the Conservatoire L. Boccherini (Lucca, Italy) with M° Pietro Rigacci. In 2018 he obtains the Diploma in Composition 'cum laude'. Contemporarily he studies piano with Prof. Nadia Puccinelli, obtaining both a Bachelor Degree and a Master's Degree in Piano studies 'cum laude' with honours.

He attends various master classes with well-known professors such as Massimiliano Damerini, Vincenzo Balzani, Wojcech Switala, Sven Birch, Mariangela Vacatello, Pasquale Iannone, Bruno Canino, Alessandro Deljavan, Enrico Bronzi, Gabriele Baldocci, Laura Pietrocini, Maria Grazia Bellocchio.​

From an early age he performs in concerts as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles, performing classical repertoire and also his own compositions.

In 2012 he receives a commission for a piano piece in honour of 'Maria Luisa di Borbone', performed at Villa Borbone (Viareggio, Italy) on the occasion of a visit by members of the royal family of the Netherlands. 

His compositions have been performed in absolute première at events organized by important institutions such as 'Associazione Cluster – Musica Contemporanea', 'Associazione Cultura e Musica Giulio Rospigliosi", 'Associazione Musicale Fanny Mendelssohn' and 'Associazione Musicale Lucchese'.

In 2014 he wins the 'Young Talents Prize', organized by the 'Associazione Musicale Fanny Mendelssohn' (Pisa, Italy). For the occasion he performs in concert during the International Music Festival 'Villa Roncioni' (Pisa, Italy), with a full programme of his own music.

In 2015 he wins the first prize at the 'Riviera della Versilia Music Competition'.

In May 2015, for the event 'La Notte Bianca di Firenze', he performs in the beautiful Salone dei Cinquecento (Florence) for the event 'Bach in Black', an extraordinary event which sees the performance of the complete Well Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach. 

In 2019 he performs Piano Concerto No. 4 by L. v. Beethoven with the L. Boccherini Orchestra in Lucca.

From 2015 to 2018 he was accompanist at the Vernazza Opera Festival. Thanks to this experience he had the opportunity to further expand his knowledge of the vocal repertoire.

He collaborated with artists such as Sandra Pastrana and the Conductor Valerio Galli, during concerts and productions for organisations such as 'Teatro del Giglio' (Lucca), 'Festival Pucciniano' (Torre del Lago Puccini) and the 'Certosa di Calci'. 

Among the various experiences working with many musicians, one of the most important is the collaboration with his sister Betsabea, also pianist and composer. Together they formed in 2015 the 'Faccini Piano Duo', a much appreciated chamber music ensemble of the new Italian generation. The Duo has been awarded many prizes in national and international piano competitions and perform an intense concert activity. Their concert performances frequently include their compositions and transcriptions, much appreciated by the audience.
