Betsabea Faccini

Betsabea Faccini, Italian and British pianist and composer, was born in 1995.
In 2017, just 21 years old, Betsabea obtains the Diploma in Composition 'cum laude' at Conservatoire L. Boccherini (Lucca) under the guidance of pianist and composer M° Pietro Rigacci. During the next four years she continues her studies in the same conservatoire obtaining First Class 'cum laude' with honours Bachelor Degree and First Class 'cum laude' with honours Master's Degree in Piano Solo under the guidance of Prof. Riccardo Peruzzi (Pianistic School of Rossana Bottai).
From the beginning, she has a costant desire to enrich her knowledge in various fields of music, from composition, to chamber music, both instrumental and vocal, and piano solo. Over the years she has taken part in various master classes with professors such as Guido Salvetti, Massimiliano Damerini, Tatiana Levitina, Jin Ju, Pasquale Iannone, Alberto Nosè, Mariangela Vacatello, Alberto Colla, Alessandro Solbiati, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, Fausto di Cesare, Enrico Bronzi, Bruno Canino, Alessandro Deljavan, Aglika Genova, Liuben Dimitrov, Gabriele Baldocci, Sivan Silver, Gil Garbur, Laura Petrocini.

As a soloist she participated in various national and international music competitions.

In 2016 she wins the 'Vittoria Caffa Righetti Prize' at the Cortemilia International Piano Competition (Italy).

She performed in many concerts as a soloist and as part of chamber music ensembles. She performed in important events such as 'La Notte Bianca di Bach - 2015 (Florence), which took place in the beautiful Salone dei Cinquecento, for 'Bach in Black', an extraordinary event which saw the performance by various pianists of the complete Well Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach, and for the Puccini Days Festival in Lucca (Italy), an important annual meeting in memory of M° Giacomo Puccini.

In 2018 she performs Schumann's Piano Concerto op.54 with the L. Boccherini Orchestra in Lucca.

Among various experience, from 2016 to 2018, she was accompanist at the Vernazza Opera Festival, exploring the vocal repertoire.

In March 2015 Betsabea wins the prestigious prize 'Female Composer of the year' organized by Fondazione Festival Pucciniano - Torre del Lago Puccini. At the prize giving cerimony, which took place at 'Auditorium Enrico Caruso of the Gran Teatro G. Puccini', Betsabea performs her piano compositions in concert.

In December of the same year she wins the 'Vittoria Alata - Marianna Bottini 2015 Prize' awarded by Fidapa B.P.W. Italy (Federazione Italiana Donne Arti Professioni e Affari).
During the prize giving ceremony which took place at Auditorium del Suffragio – Lucca, Betsabea performs in concert a selection of her chamber music and piano solo compositions. 
In June 2016, her piece "Pour Nous" for flute and guitar, was chosen to honour the official visit at the conservatoire in Lucca of the then Ministro dell'Istruzione della Repubblica Italiana, Stefania Giannini. 
Her compositions have been performed in absolute premiere at events organized by important institutions such as 'Associazione Cluster – Musica Contemporanea', 'Associazione Cultura e Musica Giulio Rospigliosi", 'Associazione Musicale Fanny Mendelssohn' and 'Associazione Musicale Lucchese'.
In 2020, her piece 'Sonata Quasi fantasia' for solo guitar, was performed and recorded by Carlotta Dalia in one of her latest cds, 'Angelus', label DotGuitar.
For many years Betsabea has collaborated with her brother Elia, also pianist and composer, and together formed in 2015 'Faccini Piano Duo', a much appreciated chamber music ensemble of the new Italian generation. The Duo has been awarded many prizes in national and international piano competitions and perform an intense concert activity. Their concert performances frequently include their compositions and transcriptions.
